ABOUT THE ARTIST
Beverly is a Vancouver-based mixed media artist. She does mainly abstract works on wood panel with resin or a mixture of acrylic fluid pouring and resin top coat. Playing with colour, form and texture are forefront in her work . Both resin and fluid pouring create beautiful, organic patterns that lend themselves perfectly to her subject matter while a resin top coat completes the piece by making the colours pop to life in an exquisite fashion. Her imagery is conceived from nature: florals, oceans, lakes, forests and skies. The source can be an actual photo that she has taken or based on the archetypes of nature.
Art, in some form or other, has always been a part of Beverly’s life. From a young age she felt the need to work with her hands and create. It provides purpose, achievement, and immense joy and satisfaction to her life. She is largely self taught but also took some formal training in acrylic painting from a local artist for a number of years and has a Diploma from Vancouver Community College in Fashion Design. She has recently begun to sell her art through private commissions. She enjoys the process of meeting the client, going to their home and then in consultation with the client determining the size and colour palette suitable for their piece.
She lives in Vancouver, BC with her husband Ted, daughter Carly and golden retriever Miller. When she isn’t in her studio, she enjoys reading, walking in the woods and spending time at the lake.
